Police have arrested an alleged gangster with a shotgun, a 375-bore rifle, 158 bullets, brown sugar and loan deeds from his rented house in Sanepa. A special team deployed from the Metropolitan Police Range, Jawalakhel raided his house and apprehended Bishwa Kranti Singh (44), a permanent resident of Hetauda-4 of Makwanpur, from Sanepa. Superintendent of Police Ashok Singh said Bishwa Kranti had been unleashing terror in Lalitrpur for the past few years through his direct and indirect involvement in gang fight, extortion, hooliganism and drug peddling. The large weapons confiscated from his house were illegal and unlicenced. Police have also seized 200 Chinese Yuan, a sea horse, a whip and two passports issued in the name of Dev Bahadur Pun Magar and Bishwa Kranti Singh. The MPR had been searching for Bishwa Kranti after a person was injured in a sword attack at Jhamsikhel-based Mirror Disco last week. “We analysed his criminal history following the incident and raided his house. Had the police not initiated action, the shotgun and rifle could have been used to kill or terrorise more people,” said SP Singh. Bishwa Kranti used to target real state agents and businesspersons for extortion.
