The University of Manchester is located in Manchester, England. It is a newer university, formed by the joint efforts of the Victoria University of Manchester and the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology in 2004. Much of the University if found south of the city centre, and like most English Universities, has its buildings scattered throughout the city proper. Approximately 39,000 students and 10,400 staff are at the University of Manchester.
