Police have started monitoring gas depots after Bhaktapur district still witnessed cooking gas shortage even after border blockade imposed by India has already been lifted. Mobilising a special team, police have started collecting details of gas cylinders received at gas suppliers and depots for the past two months and distributed by them.
According to SP Kiran Bajracharya of the Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur, police have started collecting details as per the direction of Metropolitan Police Commissioner’s Office on the basis of complaints filed by consumers. Bajracharya said that they have directed all subordinate bodies to submit the details of gas suppliers and depots of their working areas to control black marketing of cooking gas.
