Shared hosting is a budget effective solution for your website. The idea here is that several websites (accounts) reside on one server and share its resources. Each account has access to certain resources such as disk space, bandwidth, memory, etc. This might be the plan for you if you have a personal or small business website which does not require a lot of I/O resources. In case you have a large website that has a lot of visitors, that needs a lot of disk space, etc., a shared plan will not work for you since it will slow down the performance of your site and will most probably lead to suspension of your account.
