Nearly a year after the devastating earthquake

 Visiting Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has held discussions with the Secretary of Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Sichuan Province Wang Dongming and governor among other officials at the province on Saturday. On the occasion, PM Oli said that he had given high importance to the bilateral ties with China adding that after signing the different agreements with China has begun a new chapter in the age-old bilateral ties between two countries. Similarly, PM Oli said that the province was the land of great leaders and following their path, China has moved ahead on the way to prosperity. He added that Nepal was willing and expecting to extend trade ties with China as such trade ties have a long history. PM Oli further said that Nepal was expecting more tourists' visit to Nepal from China as Nepal was the birthplace of Lord Buddha adding that Nepal is the shrine for the Buddhists across the world.
During the meeting, PM Oli shared that Nepal faced a huge damage caused by the April 25 earthquake last year and for the reconstruction project, his visit to different cities in China would be the lesson. In another note, PM Oli expected the support from the government of China and business group for the economic development of the nation as Nepal had only the mission of economic prosperity after the promulgation of the new constitution. In response, CCP Sichuan Provincial Secretary Wang said they would continue support to Nepal expressing the pleasure as both countries agreed to set up the office of the consulate general in Chengdu and developing the sister-city relations between Chengdu and Kathmandu. On the occasion PM Oli extended an invitation to the Secretary Wang to visit Nepal and Wang accepting the invitation assured to visit Nepal in appropriate time. RSS
